Explore the Ancient Caravan Routes: A Motorcycle Adventure Through Morocco
Embark on an extraordinary motorcycle tour that takes you along the historic caravan routes once traversed by traders of old. This adventure is 60% off-road, offering a perfect blend of challenge and discovery as you navigate the medium-difficulty trails specifically designed to accommodate riders of all levels.
Your journey begins in the ancient city of Fez, where the bustling medinas and rich history set the stage for an unforgettable experience. From Fez, you’ll ride through the breathtaking Atlas Mountains, immersing yourself in the stunning landscapes and rich culture of the region. As you make your way to Errachidia, the rugged terrain begins to unfold, gradually leading you towards the vast Sahara Desert.
In Merzouga, the adventure truly begins as you ride through the majestic dunes of the Sahara. The golden sands stretch as far as the eye can see, offering a surreal and awe-inspiring backdrop to your journey. From Merzouga, you’ll continue to Zagora, a town steeped in history and surrounded by palm groves, where the echoes of ancient caravans still linger.
Leaving the desert behind, you’ll head towards Foum Zguid, where the terrain shifts once again, challenging your riding skills as you navigate through rocky paths and rugged landscapes. The journey then takes you to the iconic Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning kasbahs and as a backdrop for many famous films.
Finally, you’ll ascend the High Atlas Mountains, the highest range in North Africa, where breathtaking views and winding roads lead you to the vibrant city of Marrakech. Here, the journey culminates in the lively souks and bustling streets, offering a perfect blend of adventure, history, and culture.
This motorcycle tour is a unique opportunity to explore the diverse landscapes of Morocco, from the ancient city of Fez to the majestic peaks of the Atlas Mountains and the sweeping sands of the Sahara. PROGRAM :
Day 1: Arrive in fes
After landing in the beautiful fes, you will be immediately welcomed by our staff. A transfer will take you to the hotel, where the bikes will be waiting for you. After completing the pickup process, join us for a small tour of the fes Medina: the most ancient part of the town.
Day 2: From Fes to Errachidia – 320 km
Ride from Fes to Errachidia, covering 320 km through the Atlas Mountains. Pass through lush forests, traditional Berber villages, and encounter nomadic communities along the way. This day offers a blend of stunning scenery and cultural immersion.
Day 3: From Errachidia to Merzouga – 200 km
On the third day, we’ll journey 200 km from Errachidia to Merzouga. The ride will take us through picturesque palm groves, vast desert expanses, and arid plains. We’ll stop at the historic Portuguese prison before arriving in Merzouga. This day is dedicated to training on sand crossings and experiencing motorcycle riding on small sand dunes. After our activities, we’ll head to the camp, either by camel or 4×4, where we’ll spend the night in a beautiful spot surrounded by sand dunes.
Day 4: Merzouga to Zagora – 300 km
Enjoy a sunrise over the sand dunes and breakfast before returning by 4×4 to the motorcycle parking area. We’ll then travel 240 km to Zagora along the famous Dakar Rally route, experiencing its challenging and scenic terrain.
Day 5: Zagora to Foum Zguid – 260 km
Travel 240 km from Zagora to Foum Zguid, passing through the sacred oasis and the dry Iriki Lake. Enjoy the unique landscapes and the serene beauty of these distinctive desert features.
Day 6: Foum Zguid to Aït Benhaddou – 320 km
Travel 320 km from Foum Zguid to Aït Benhaddou. We’ll leave the desert and ascend the arid Small Atlas Mountains, navigating dry valleys and passing through the Aguinane Oasis.
Day 7: Aït Benhaddou to Marrakech – 260 km
On the final day, we’ll journey 260 km from Aït Benhaddou to Marrakech. The route takes us through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, where we’ll experience breathtaking landscapes and pass by charming Berber villages. The mountain roads offer a dramatic contrast to the desert scenery of previous days. Upon reaching Marrakech, we’ll check into our hotel and then immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. Explore the bustling markets, enjoy street performances, and savor a delicious Moroccan dinner, marking a memorable end to our adventure.
Day 9: good flight!
After an incredible 8-day adventure, your journey concludes on Day 9. In the morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and if time allows, take a relaxing dip in the pool or explore the old city of Marrakech. This is your chance to soak in the vibrant atmosphere, visit local markets, or simply wander through the historic streets before it’s time to head to the airport. Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll arrange your transfer to the airport, ensuring you depart with unforgettable memories of your Moroccan motorcycle tour.
